Really sharp discussion on the standardize vs. customize tradeoff. Mohamed's point about the ~$500M cost to tape out advanced silicon perfectly captures why the modular chiplet approach makes economic sense right now. I've been tracking UCIe adoption closely and the interposer overhead used to be a dealbreaker, but at 3nm and below the amortization logic flips completley. Moshe's comment about gross margins tho reminds me that HBM integration taught us modularization can transfer cost to BOM even as it cuts NRE.
