Today, AMD 0.00%↑ is holding its Advancing AI event in San Francisco. Over the course of two hours, CEO AMD Dr. Lisa Su and other executives and partners took to the stage to discuss and announce the company's next generation datacenter and AI hardware.
The broad strokes include the launch of 5th Generation EPYC CPUs ('Turin'), AMD Instinct MI325X on the AI side, and then insights into the next generation MI355X hardware as well as insights into 400 GbE networking from the Pensando group.
This comes off the back of several good quarters from AMD. The company has used this event in 2023 and now in 2024 to showcase the roadmap and the direction of the company, as well as speak about the hot button topics, such as recent acquisitions. We saw the silo.AI team mentioned extensively during the event - the ZT Systems acquisition is still in regulatory approval, but the engagement was still discussed.
There’s scope here for a bigger article with all the details - I’ll write that up with additional details from the event. But if anyone wants to read the live blog from the event, head on over to my twitter.
However in a special session after lunch, CEO Dr. Lisa Su spent 30 minutes answering questions from the analysts in attendance. At the request of AMD, rather than a direct word-for-word transcript of the event, here's a breakdown of that session. No questions were rejected!
